Mister Transmission builds its dream team.

Mister Transmission, with its 80 dealers across Canada, recently held its AGM at the Hilton Garden Inn with the help of Larter Marketing and Communications.

This year the theme of the meeting was the concept of “building the team.” But in Mister Transmission’s case, they meant it literally. As hockey is so much a part of our common culture, it was incorporated into all aspects of the day-long event.

“The concept of hockey and what it means to everyone in the room just made perfect sense,” says Diana Colosimo, Marketing Director at Mister Transmission. “A team is exactly what we are all about,” she adds.

From the moment dealers walked in, hockey was front and centre. The hockey shootout gave dealer principals and their associates a chance to shoot and score points using a traditional ball hockey setup.

The classic voice of Joe Bowen gave the videos a true feeling of "Game Time!"

In an opening video, some of hockey’s legendary moments, including scenes with Bobby Orr, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby, punctuated a powerful music track and reiterated the need for leadership and teamwork.

Motivational speaker Donald Cooper then took the stage and talked about his passion for business and how other businesses could benefit from the desire to find something totally unique for their customers.

Randall Moore, President and CEO of Mister Transmission, then went on stage to reward some of the major successes over the past year and to discuss how the company is moving forward with new ideas aimed at making it the best national automotive franchise network in Canada.

At this point Mr. Moore announced the formation of the Captain’s Program, which features a group of dealers charged with the task of facilitating communications between management and dealers. Their goal is to make sure each and every dealer has a voice at the table. Each Captain was presented with a Mister Transmission hockey jersey, as was every dealer in the room.

“The result of having a powerfully themed meeting was that Mister Transmission was able to focus the people in the room on the content of the meeting,” says Brian Larter, President and CEO of Larter. “Moreover, it meant Mister Transmission dealers felt connected, both physically and emotionally, to momentum and the decisions put forward in the room. There was big buy-in.”
