Mister Transmission wants customers to
listen to their “inner vehicle.”

A new campaign from Mister Transmission
gets people listening.

After awarding Larter the stewardship of their marketing efforts, Mister Transmission has launched its first new campaign with the agency.

The creative includes television, radio, web, point of purchase plus a print and video franchisee package. “We wanted something to break the category this time,” says Randy Moore, President and CEO of Mister Transmission. With over 80 franchisees across Canada, Mister Transmission is the best known name when it comes to transmission maintenance and repair.

“It’s a very competitive marketplace and we wanted a new way to connect with consumers,” he continues.

In The new 30 second television spot from Larter, a choir appears behind a man who mimes his way into a vehicle. The choir mimics the sounds the car makes as he starts the engine and proceeds to drive. Throughout his journey he encounters strange noises from the choir that concern him. The narrator suggests these nasty sounds could be your transmission. Or not. He explains that almost half the transmissions Mister Transmission sees don’t even need serious repair, but only Mister Transmission has the expertise to know the difference. For only $79.95 you can get a transmission service and avoid these nasty sounds and potential pitfalls of transmission breakdown. Radio creative sends the same message.

“Our goal is to help Mister Transmission change consumer attitudes and behaviors around their transmissions,” says Brian Larter. “Consumers need to know that with simple, affordable maintenance, you can take care of your transmission and prevent potential breakdowns.”

At the franchisee level, posters and ad mats help support the transmission maintenance message. Campaign details and information were delivered to every Mister Transmission franchise using web video and printed brochures. Another first for the company.
